- If Android asks, open Settings → Apps → Special app access → Install unknown apps and temporarily allow the browser or file manager that downloaded it.
- Install, then turn that permission off again. The app asks Android for its separate VPN permission when you connect.
Verify the file with SHA-256
A SHA-256 fingerprint works like a file's fingerprint: change a single byte and the value changes completely. Compute the downloaded file's hash with a file manager or a hash tool and compare it with the value above. If they differ, do not install it. More in the safe APK install guide.
